27.4%
199 lb again, BMI 28.5, body fat down to 27.4% from 29%, water up to 53% from 50%. Interesting numbers, but weight's still the only one I actually trust day to day.
14 st 3 lb today. 199 lb, back under the 200 lb line after the wobble up to 14 st 4 lb. BMI 28.5, which is comfortably overweight rather than obese — another small line crossed.
The scales also threw out body fat at 27.4% and body water at 53%.
I’ve been watching those two numbers for a while now. Fat’s come down from around 29%, water’s gone up from around 50%. They move in opposite directions because of how the scales actually work — a small electrical current through the body, resistance translated into an estimate. Hydrated tissue and fat tissue conduct differently, so anything that changes hydration nudges both readings at once. Food, exercise, time of day, all of it.
So I’m not reading too much into any single day’s fat or water percentage. Weight’s still the number I trust — weigh consistently and it means something. The other two are only useful as a slow trend over weeks, not something to react to day by day.
Still, the trend’s a decent one. Roughly 35 lb down now from where I started, 2 st 7 lb, and apparently getting there with less fat sitting on it than the raw weight figure alone would suggest. No calorie counting, no obsessive tracking, Sunday roast fully intact. I’ll keep recording all three numbers, but weight stays the headline. The rest is just something to glance at every few weeks.
